About the Service
NGE Drone Services is veteran owned, as well as 14 years of fire and EMS public safety experience. NGE Drone Services provides aerial photography and videography for commercial and residential real estate. We have had extra experience with water front properties along Virginia's Northern Neck bounded by the Potomac and Rappahannock Rivers, as well as the Chesapeake Bay. NGE Drone Services provides roof inspection imagery for personal use, roofers, construction, maintenance and/or insurance companies. We have used our Mavic 2 Pro for manual flights of these, as well as contracted with the Skydio 2 using state-of-the-art AI for autonomous inspections. We have assisted with search and rescue efforts for missing persons, as well as recovery efforts for victims. Until recently relocating, NGE Drone Services had gone through training for solar field inspections and was on track for daily inspections of these safety sensitive areas. NGE Drone Services owner is TWIC certified. TWIC is Transportation Workers Identification Credential. This allows the holder access to secure maritime facilities and secure ports of our country, as well as permission to access coastal commercial work such as oil rigs, etc.

About the Drone
NGE Drone Services uses the DJI Mavic 2 Pro. The Mavic 2 Pro uses a 20mp sensor, with the ability to take photographs in JPEG or RAW file format, as well as video in normal or "Dlog-M" color format. The normal format uses an 8-bit sensor and can display 16.7 million colors, or when we use the special Dlog-M format with a 10-bit sensor this jumps up to 1.07 billion colors that may be displayed. This high quality results in the need for serious computing power, and NGE Drone Services is fully able to take advantage of the immense jump in video quality.
For select missions, NGE Drone Services may use a special VR headset which enables the user to see exactly what the drone pilot is seeing on the screen. The drone pilot may also enable the headset to track with the drone camera, allowing for the pilot to operate the drone near roofs, etc for inspections while a second individual uses the goggles to look around, which results in the camera naturally looking around with the individual. This is something most drone service providers do not have access to.
NGE Drone Services has experience obtaining imagery for traffic studies as well as providing construction monitoring via photos and orbit videos.
NGE Drone Services has 9 batteries and a smart controller giving us about 1.5 hrs to 2 hrs of flight time. We will never fly from a boat due to safety reasons, but we are able to obtain footage from the banks of bodies of water.
